Just like a circuit breaker

I made the switch today. That’s right, I joined the growing legions of people switching from Windows to Macintosh. What did I get, you may ask? I decided to go small. So far things seem to be going great. I didn’t really do a lot with it tonight. Just got it setup, including the installation of Firefox and all of my extensions and getting my iTunes library populated.

Why? Lots of reasons, but I’ll put this article out there as my first reason. Plus, with Apple changing to the Intel chip I thought this was a great time to make the switch. Every time I’ve used a Mac, even with my old Performa back in college, I’ve enjoyed working on it. Can’t necessarily say the same for Windows. I look forward to my new, mini friend. I hope you look forward to hearing about it :)

Why “Settle” for the Board Game

Have you heard of the board game Settlers of Catan? All I know is that it’s hugely popular in the Newberg area. I’ve played it some, and I’ve definitely enjoyed it. It’s like a combination of Monopoly and Risk, but has an end that is easily reachable (unlike Monopoly and Risk that can last for hours without end).

Well, a short while ago a co-worker notified me of a place online where you can play Settlers! The night she told me I played for over 3 hours. Welcome to Time Waster 2006! You can play the original version of Settlers, or the variation Cities and Knights; you can even play on a variety of board designs. You have the choice of playing computer players, or you can open up your game for others online to play against you. Who needs to sit across the table from your competition, you can do it in the comfort of your PJs. It’s hours of good fun.

Check it out over at AsoBrain.
