Amazing Technology

A coworker sent me a link today, and my immediate thought was of Minority Report. Watch this video and you will understand. Here’s a YouTube video of Jeff Han, one of the developers of this new multi-touch screen technology, given at the 2006 TED conference. On a smaller scale, this is similar stuff to the touch screen of the new Apple iPhone. You can watch that in action here for the full keynote, or check here for the Wikipedia’s info on the iPhone touch screen.

At work, I can’t get the eye candy video to load, but I watched the TED video and … that’s some cool stuff! with all sorts of non-mouse/keyboard computer operation.

I also checked out the BumpTop user interface also listed on the Scientific Indian’s page. Those two interfaces go hand-in-hand.

Thanks for the linkies. :D

Okay, the Perceptive Pixel thing is even better. The TED video is almost a year old now, so I’m guessing the other is more recent, but built on the same ideas. Is that Jeff Han in the PP video?

Yes, that’s Jeff in the PP video, too. Pretty stinking amazing.
