A New Mii to Make

So someone decided that today was the right time to make himself known to the world, and I have a new Mii to make.

Abel Anders Schwanz was born this afternoon at 3:42p. He weighs 7lb 2oz, and is 19.75 inches long. Mother and baby are doing very well. Enjoy the pics below, or all of them here.

One-Week Balloon

What do you do for a kid who is being potty trained, and hasn’t had an accident in one week? You get that boy a balloon!

What do you do when that balloon comes loose and flies away? You tell the boy that the balloon is all gone — which he repeats by saying “ba-woon ahh gone” — and his 2.5 year old attention span takes him onto the next greatest thing…running in circles.

Ahh gone.

Baby Rock’n'Roll

Aj sent me a link today that I just had to pass along. Baby Rock Records takes songs from famous rockers and lullaby-ifies them! There’s nothing like some baby Nirvana, Radiohead, Zeppelin, and U2. Oh, and don’t forget the baby Metallica and Tool :-D They’ve even put some short clips online, so go give a listen…you know you want to.

When Listening Isn’t a Good Thing

It’s amazing to hear my 2.5 year old son say the same things as I do. It really makes me wonder what I say, and how often I say it.

I was taking a load off this evening playing some MLB2k6, and doing an overall poor job at it. It was the bottom of the 9th, I was up to bat, down by 1 run. With every swing-and-miss that I did Judah would exclaim loudly, “Oh geez!”

All of a sudden my mind is whirling with, “Did he just say that? Was that ‘cheese’ or ‘geez?’ I haven’t been saying that, have I?”

I guess that’s on par with when he repeated after me yesterday. I was working on something, and in a moment of exasperation I said “crap.” Not five seconds later I heard my echo, “cwap.”

Awww cr… ge… dan… DOH!

Boy, we’re in for it now

If these photos come as a surprise to you, you need to watch the video in this post.

In this photo Half Pint is showing his strength.
Half Pint the Bodybuilder

This is one of Half Pint’s feet. Don’t know which one, but the other one is in there somewhere.

A good shot of Half Pint’s profile, with the arm in there perfectly posed. He’s compliant already :-) Half Pint's Profile

If you didn’t pick up on my choice of words yet, Half Pint is indeed a boy.

If you aren’t able to “read” the photos I made some notes of them on Flickr, so click on each photo to go there. Or you can click here for all of the photos.

Presenting…

Judah has this thing where he first pulls the cushion off of the arm chair, then he’ll jump on the bare chair while singing his ABCs.  Without further ado, I present Judah singing the ABCs.

A Half Pint of What?

In preparing for Christmas I decided to put my Mac to good use, and “produced” a video for our families. It was good fun to get to dabbel in video production stuff. Without further ado, I give you “The Evolution of Movement.”

Big Boy Bed

Judah has been sleeping like crap recently. Shortly after he started climbing out of his crib I took the slider rail off so it was a 3-walled crib. In the last few weeks he’s not been sleeping through the night, so we figure that part of it was because of the ever growing boy sleeping in an open crib.

Aj mentioned to some friends that we were going to start looking for a big boy bed for Judah. One friend said they had a twin bed we could have, and another friend offered the services of her husband to deliver the bed in his truck. Today that delivery came!

Latest Judah Clip

Judah’s new favorite saying is “go away.” Enjoy the clip.

Congratulations!

Just got an email from my cousin Mark, that his wife Ana gave birth to their son, Jonathan Andrew.  I got the email at 8:48am, and the blog about the birth says Jonathan was born at 6:65am :-)  I completely understand that feeling that Mark is going through right now.  Super excited, so you want to get that info out ASAP.  Super exhausted, so you start making up times :-)  I know what some of you are going to say, and yes, as a father you still get exhaused through the process even though you didn’t do a tenth of the physical stuff the woman goes through.  Congratulations Mark and Ana, I’m excited for you guys!
